Hello, I’m Sammy. I offer expert one-to-one and online Modern foreign languages tutoring. I tutor French, Spanish and Italian – specializing as an online German tutor – in friendly, focused and supportive lessons.

Are you learning a language as an adult? Need help with exams? Or would just like some conversation practice to boost your confidence? I will tailor our sessions to suit your needs. Of course, if you just want to brush up on your language skills before a holiday or business trip, I can help with this, too!

I also have extensive experience in teaching English as a foreign language and I welcome international students to get in touch.

We tutor from our home in Woolton Village where I live with my young family.

Qualification & experience:
Former Head of Languages in a secondary school
Fully qualified teacher (QTS) with over ten years’ experience teaching GCSE and A level
Masters in Education and 1st class BA (hons) in German and Italian with a distinction in spoken language
Experience teaching language for business
Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certified

My first aim is to put you at ease and boost your confidence. Lesson content is completely flexible to fit with what you need and we will always work at a pace you are comfortable with.

John is an excellent tutor who is extremely good at tailoring lessons to the student's level. He responds well to any areas of need identified by the student and he is also proactive in guiding the student to improve in areas where he sees a need. My daughter found him very pleasant, supportive and reassuring, and she saw a clear improvement in her grades with his guidance.

Having John as a Tutor for A-Level Biology was a great experience. During our online lessons I improved not only in my comprehension of the study of Biology but also heavily in how to approach and answer A-Level Biology questions which as we all know is the key to A-Level Biology. John's methods help to build understanding and intuitiveness when studying the subject of Biology whilst building great camaraderie. Oh wow!! I really can’t praise Dr John’s on line tutoring service high enough. Dr John is extremely professional and an incredible tutor. My daughter has gone from getting 4’s in her science subjects to now getting an 7s & 8s in her last tests.. and this is all due to Dr John’s tutoring style and the hard work and dedication from both student and tutor. On line tutoring also really works too!! I actually feel it’s much better than having a face to face session as you have the comfort of being in your own home and takes away the logistics of having to travel after school in the evenings. This is also with the same high standards of tutoring being delivered. My daughter is wanting to continue on line tutoring with Dr John through her A levels. If your thinking about getting an on line tutor, without hesitation I’d say go for it!!
