Hi! I’m Sammy. I am a qualified teacher and former Head of Languages with over 17 years’ experience teaching languages in UK schools and as an online Italian tutor. I also have extensive experience tutoring adults who want to learn or improve their Italian.
I fell in love with the Italian language and culture (and, of course, Italian food!) during my year abroad in Venice. I returned to work in Italy once I had graduated, too.

GCSE and iGCSE online Italian tutoring
Italian exam boards I cover are AQA, Pearson Edexcel and Cambridge, and also teach International GCSE (IGCSE), but please do contact me if you need anything else. In our Italian sessions, we work together on what you need. This could include:
Help with grammar – perhaps you are struggling with ‘passato prossimo’ or ‘imperfetto’, or maybe you need help with irregular verbs. Whatever you are finding difficult to understand, I can help you with.
Speaking in Italian – this makes many people feel nervous! We can practise Italian pronunciation, understanding questions and ways to develop your answers, whilst improving your confidence, too. Having the chance to practise speaking Italian one-to-one in a supportive environment outside of your Italian classroom will really help.
Improving your Italian grade – maybe you are not happy with the grade you are working at currently and want to move up a grade.
Exam technique – using past paper questions to practise all four of the skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) tested in the Italian exam.

Online Italian tutor for adults
Italy is a popular tourist destination … and Italian is a beautiful language.
Some of my clients come to me because they often go on holiday to Italy and what to enhance their experience by speaking Italian when they are there. If you are an absolute beginner – no problem! I can help you practise the language you need for your trip.
Perhaps you are looking for a new hobby? Maybe you have always wanted to learn Italian and find you now have some spare time. Our sessions and relaxed and fun and a great way to keep your mind active whilst learning a life-long skill. I offer sessions for couples, too – so bring along a friend, partner, colleague or family member and learn together 🙂
Whether you are an absolute beginner or already have some experience of Italian, I can help. Our sessions will be tailored to exactly what you want and need, so that you can make quick progress and feel confident.
