We have some vacancies at Woolton Tutors. Would you like to join us as a freelance tutor? We’re looking for the right people to help with the growing demand for friendly, expert tutoring at Woolton Tutors.

Currently we have:
A vacancy for an online A-level Maths tutor
A vacancy for an online A-level Physics tutor
A vacancy for an online A-level Chemistry tutor

We’re inviting CVs and expressions of interest from tutors who:

Are friendly, supportive and inclusive
Have experience in tutoring or teaching their subject for UK exam boards
Are happy to work with us for a fixed term (initially until July 2025) but potentially onwards.
Are excited by the flexibility of online tutoring
Have a current DBS check / certificate
Are (or will be) registered as self-employed or partially self-employed with HMRC
Are happy with pay based on experience, but starting at £35 per hour for GCSE and £50 for A-level.

Our friendly approach is very important to us, our tutees and their families. We work hard to go the extra mile for them. How you support learners is as important as qualifications and experience to us. As part of the hiring process, you will have the chance to conduct a “mini tutoring session” with us, so we can see what our tutees will see.

We are especially keen to hear from candidates with a postgraduate research background or experience in scicomm/ public understanding of science.

My daughter’s GCSE grades in Biology increased by 3 and Maths by 2 between her mocks, when she started working with John, and her final summer exams. We can’t thank John enough for helping her achieve the high grades. John is very professional and extremely knowledgeable about the subjects and GCSE curricula, but also importantly, exam techniques and mark schemes. He has an exceptional ability to explain methods and concepts in an accessible way and paces according to the student. John is very intelligent and passionate about the subjects so is able to contextualise tricky concepts, adding interest with real-life applications and fostering understanding. He let my daughter choose what areas and topics to work on each week so she was secure in all areas that may come up in the GCSE exams.
